An "Open Studio" art class is available for adults and mature high school students ages 12 and up on a weekly basis. Shane McDonald occasionally teaches workshops on painting portraits from life, landscape painting, and life figure drawing as well.
Catering to the needs of students with intermediate to advanced levels of ability, Shane McDonald teaches classes and other art instruction programs in a variety of painting and drawing media. Realistic drawing is the foundation skill taught in each class. Because the same rudimentary principles apply to painting that apply to drawing, students focus on a foundation of design elements and principles, such as tonal value, proportion, shape, perspective, and composition; to make painting more successful.
The studio has more to offer throughout the week, including an open studio figure drawing and painting group which meets Wednesday evenings.
